Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to analyze epidemiological and demographic data on dengue, chikungunya, and Zika in Brazil, based on epidemiological reports from the Ministry of Health between 2020 and September 2022. Methods: This is a quantitative, descriptive, and retrospective study using secondary data from epidemiological bulletins of urban arboviruses transmitted by Aedes aegypti. Results: During the COVID-19 pandemic, an increase in arboviral cases was observed, associated with reduced vector control campaigns and underreporting due to health efforts being focused on COVID-19. Additionally, increased rainfall levels and failures in mosquito control contributed to the rise in cases. Conclusion: These findings highlight the need to strengthen case suspicion and reporting, professional awareness, and effective public health strategies aimed at eliminating mosquito breeding sites and controlling arboviral diseases.
