Abstract
Objective: To seek and identify studies on the nurse's role in prenatal care in primary care. Methods: It is an integrative review, which through electronic databases a total of 657 articles were found, where they went through inclusion and exclusion criteria, remaining 4 studies to compose the results. Results: Prenatal care consists of monitoring the pregnancy, where the pregnant woman is examined and referred for exams, vaccines and ultrasounds. Ideally, a minimum of 6 consultations should be carried out until delivery. In Primary Care, the nurse is trained and has autonomy to carry out prenatal consultations. The effectiveness of nursing care in prenatal care was evidenced, when performed properly and the unfamiliarity of some nurses about the systematization of nursing in primary care. Final considerations: Studies have shown that a more appropriate and humanized reception by professionals guarantees greater adherence to prenatal consultations.
