Abstract
Objective: To conduct a bibliographic survey on the importance of pharmaceutical guidance in self-medication during the pandemic of covid-19. Methods: The present work will rely on the systematic integrative review procedure, which is characterized by the gathering of theoretical references published and available to the public, destined for analysis and observations, in a succinct manner. The collection of data and information that make up the current study will use as sources of research the following electronic databases: Google Scholar, Acervo+ Index base, PubMed and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO). Results: Research on drugs that can be used to treat Covid-19, report that no data recommendation is available with fully effective treatments to eradicate the disease. Some of the drug therapies used to treat the infection include glucocorticoids and antimicrobials, and the use of these without proper guidance can result in adverse effects, bacterial resistance, and others. Final considerations: Thus, the pharmacist has a fundamental role, for being a professional who is in direct contact with the individual, in observation, orienting about the dangers of self-medication. Thus, it is possible to prevent reactions and adverse actions to medications, providing well-being to patients.
