Abstract
Objective: To provide, through a narrative review, a broad approach to Pediatric Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome (SIM-P) as a complication of Covid-19 in children and adolescents. Bibliographic review: SIM-P is a post-infectious syndrome, which can occur up to about 4 weeks after acute infection with the new coronavirus. In most cases it results in a serious condition with involvement of various organs such as lungs, brain, heart, kidneys and others. This clinical condition is similar to Kawasaki Disease (KD), Macrophage Activation Syndrome and Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) and due to the similarity of the SIM-P condition with already known diseases, a more adequate management of patients was possible, since there are still few studies regarding the treatment of the syndrome. Final considerations: The early detection of SIM-P cases and the institution of adequate treatment in a timely manner is essential to avoid serious complications such as shock and cardiovascular changes, thus reducing the number of deaths from this condition.
