Abstract

Objective: To provide a broad approach on eyelid correction surgery, beflaroplasty. Bibliographic review: Blepharoplasty is a cosmetic surgery to correct excess skin accumulated in the upper and/or lower eyelid region that can occur due to several factors, the main one being the human aging process itself. It is a surgical procedure performed mainly by women, with the aim of achieving a rejuvenating aspect of the face. The anatomy of the eyelid region is complex and delicate, with several surgical techniques currently available for performing this procedure. A careful preoperative evaluation involving a detailed anamnesis, ophthalmological and laboratory evaluation, as well as photographic documentation, is necessary in order to choose the best technique for each patient. Complications from this procedure are rare, delivering excellent results in most cases. Final considerations: Blepharoplasty is capable of providing a reduction in the signs of facial aging, increasing self-esteem and improving the visual field, bringing satisfactory results to patients and surgeons who perform it.
