Abstract
Objective: To map the available evidence on active aging in the context of work. Methods: This is a scope review guided by the Joanna Briggs Institute recommendations and according to the methodological framework proposed by Arksey and O'Malley. Results: 19 articles were included that showed that active aging in the context of work involves several variables, such as: the structure of work and the need for interventions and approaches in the workplace; to improve conditions to be safer; working to promote health throughout life and employment; the importance of social relationships and lifelong learning; and have safer jobs. Final considerations: Among the main findings, having a qualified and more experienced workforce, in addition to the numerous contributions to social relations in the face of age diversity in the occupational environment, we have a significant gain for the health of older workers, regardless of which workspace, sector or location you are in.
