Abstract
Objective: To analyze the main factors that can lead to the appearance of Broken Heart Syndrome. Methods: This is an integrative review and to compose this research, the databases used were U.S. National Library of Medicine (PubMed), Portal da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) e Science Direct. The search was carried out with the Descriptors in Health Sciences (DeCS): “Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy” and “Risk Factors” combined through the Boolean operator “AND”, 16 articles being selected for this study. Results: Regarding the findings, the following factors were explained as contributing to the appearance of Broken Heart Syndrome: subarachnoid hemorrhage, reported in 18.75% of the articles, post-menopause in 25%, metabolic syndrome in 18.75%, COVID- 19 in 31.25%, systemic inflammation in 6.25%, medications in 31.25%, emotional stress in 37.5% and Alzheimer's in 6.25%. Final considerations: It was evident that the areas that encompass the main factors which can trigger Broken Heart Syndrome are pathological, endocrine-metabolic, inflammatory and psychic alterations.
