Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the quality of life of dentists in dental care during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study with a sample of 105 dentists. Three questionnaires were used: socio demographic, qualitative and WHOQOL-bref. Results: The predominant age group was between 40 and 49 years old, with a majority of married women and graduation between 11-30 years. Sleep and rest were the most affected facets of the physical domain. The facet spirituality/religion/personal beliefs presented an average of 85.4% of satisfaction, showing that at the height of the pandemic period, faith was always maintained. It was found that 77.8% of respondents were satisfied with social relationships. Sexual activity had the lowest average among the three facets, as 25% of respondents were not satisfied. The environment domain had the lowest score despite being also positive. A reduction in income was observed in some cases, due to the compulsory closure of the offices and the insecurity of patients in leaving their homes. Conclusion: Mental health and emotional balance were essential for dentists to maintain a good quality of life and face the catastrophic scenario of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
