Abstract

Objective: Analyze the spatial correlation of Zika virus (ZV) incidence rates in the municipalities of Pará with sociodemographic and economic factors in the region. Methods: This is an ecological study, using data from the Department of Informatics of the Unified Health System. Global Moran's indices (IM) were used to identify the spatial correlation of ZV incidence rates, and bivariate indices were used to analyze sociodemographic factors related to VZ. Based on significant data(p<0.05), local IM were estimated and visually represented using LisaMap. Results: Sapucaia, Nova Ipixuna and Bannach had the highest average incidence rates in the region. The univariate global MI showed a statistically significant positive spatial correlation of VZ cases in Pará. With regard to the bivariate analyses, there was a positive spatial association with the Human development indicator (IDHM) and the complementary health coverage rate, and a negative relationship with the social vulnerability index. Demographic density and the Gini index showed no significant relationship. Conclusion: The incidence of ZV in the municipalities of Pará has been shown to be influenced by the IDHM, the rate of supplementary health coverage and the social vulnerability index, which highlights the importance of access to socio-economic policies by the population.
