Abstract

Objective: To analyze the cardiovascular effects of Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome post-COVID-19 syndrome. Methods: Articles were selected from the BVS, PubMed, SciElo, CAPES Periodicals and Scopus databases, with specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. For the search, the DeCS/MeSH descriptors were combined as follows: Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome AND children AND adults AND (cardiovascular diseases OR heart diseases OR heart diseases), with subsequent use of these descriptors in Spanish and English for DeCS and in the latter language for MeSH on PubMed. After analysis and synthesis of the selected studies, a table was created with the information collected and a PRISMA flowchart. Results: 874 articles were found in PubMed, of which, based on the exclusion criteria, 11 articles were selected for continuation of the study, 6 of which were retrospective cohorts, 3 narrative reviews and 2 systematic reviews. Final considerations: After analysis, the close relationship between exposure to post-COVID-19 Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome and cardiovascular changes in children and adults became evident.
