Abstract
Objective: Analyze the biomedical, socioeconomic and ethical impacts of personalized medicine. Literature review: Personalized medicine achieves concrete advances in genomics and molecular biology, based on the premise that each individual is a unique and singular genetic organism. In this way, precision medicine allows for greater accuracy in early diagnosis, prevention and specific treatment of the health service user, especially in congenital metabolic disorders, such as cystic fibrosis. These advances in this technology make it the target of several global investments and financing, but reveal several obstacles and challenges to the full consolidation of this health mechanism, as it involves ethical implications for the privacy of genetic data and financial implications for democratization and popularization of equity in access. to this technological tool. Final considerations: Precision medicine is a promising healthcare strategy in the development of medical practice. Personalized medicine is capable of deepening inequality in access to health services and breaking the ethical confidentiality of patient genetic information.
