Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of lifestyle interventions in preventing cardiovascular diseases (CVD). Literature review: Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) stand out as one of the leading causes of global mortality, associated with factors such as sedentary behavior, obesity, smoking, and the adoption of a Western diet characterized by excessive consumption of fats and carbohydrates. Although the benefits of lifestyle changes, such as regular physical activity and healthy eating, are widely recognized, many individuals face barriers to incorporating these practices into their daily lives. Nevertheless, strategies that promote healthy habits have the potential to significantly reduce morbidity and mortality while generating cost savings for healthcare systems. Final considerations: Lifestyle interventions have demonstrated high effectiveness in preventing CVD, as evidenced by studies highlighting the benefits of behavioral changes. In this context, future research should explore integrated and multifactorial approaches, such as balanced nutrition, physical activity, and psychosocial support, to enhance the effectiveness and applicability of these interventions.
