Abstract

Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of mHealth technologies in the control and monitoring of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). Methods: This is a Systematic Review (SR) of Randomized Clinical Trials (RCTs). The research question was based on the PICO model (Population, Intervention, Comparison, and Outcome), focusing on patients undergoing treatment for T2DM using mHealth. The search was conducted in databases such as PubMed, SciElo, Scopus, and the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD). After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, six studies were selected. Results: In 83.3% (n=05) of the studies, there was a significant reduction in HbA1c levels in the intervention groups. In 66% (n=04) of the articles, no serious adverse effects were observed, although a slight reduction in adherence and a few hypoglycemic events occurred in 33% (n=02). Only one study showed no outcomes related to HbA1c. Additionally, 33% (n=02) assessed interventions combined with other conditions such as hypertension, showing improvements in both glucose and blood pressure levels, with greater adherence due to the personalized approach. Final considerations: mHealth solutions improve treatment adherence and glycemic control in T2DM, demonstrating effectiveness in disease monitoring. However, challenges such as equitable access and data protection still need to be addressed.
