Abstract
Objective: To evaluate knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) among anesthesiologists and anesthesiology residents in the state of Pará. Methods: This was an observational, quantitative, cross-sectional, and analytical study. Data were collected through a questionnaire including sociodemographic and professional information, as well as an assessment of knowledge about cardiac arrest according to the 2020 ACLS guidelines. Statistical analysis was performed using BioEstat® 5.4, applying Chi-square tests, the G test, and Pearson correlation, with a significance level of 5%. Results: A total of 132 individuals participated, predominantly male (59.1%), with a mean age of 34.7 years, most frequently between 30 and 39 years. The predominant time since graduation was 2–5 years (58.3%). The sample included anesthesiologists (54.5%) and residents (45.5%), mainly working in public hospitals (91.7%). Residents achieved higher scores in immediate management and chest compressions with advanced airway, while anesthesiologists performed better in defibrillation. The number of correct answers correlated with age and work in the private sector. Conclusion: Despite the better cognitive performance of anesthesiologists, relevant weaknesses remain in CPR management, highlighting the need for continuous training.
