Abstract
This review article aimed to discuss the current therapies that help in the treatment of Bullous Epidermolysis (EB) in children and adolescents. EB is an inherited (autosomal dominant) disease caused by a mutation in the anchoring proteins between the dermis and the epidermis, manifesting with the formation of bubbles that affect the skin and mucosa. A trained multidisciplinary team is needed for the adequate multisystem control of the patient. The study is a bibliographic review on possible topical and systemic pharmacological treatments, such as gentamicin and baths, and non-pharmacological treatments, such as the use of dressings, epidermal self-extracts and immunological and genetic therapies, in order to guarantee protection from injuries and prevent secondary infections and other syndromes. Finally, it is concluded that because it is a pathology still considered rare and with still low prevalence data, the best therapy is the combined use of different managements, according to the clinical severity of lesions, in palliative care of patients with Epidermolysis Bullosa.
