Abstract
Objective: To identify the mechanisms and evaluate the clinical impacts of the mRNA-4157 vaccine in combating melanoma recurrence, exploring the therapeutic possibilities of this novel approach. Literature review: Melanoma is one of the most aggressive and lethal skin cancers, characterized by a high metastatic rate and a poor prognosis in advanced stages. Despite the effectiveness of treatments such as surgical excision and immunotherapy in early stages, options for metastatic melanoma remain limited. In recent years, therapeutic vaccines have gained prominence for their safety and multi-target potential. The mRNA-4157 vaccine uses tumor antigens to induce a specific and efficient immune response, standing out as an innovative and cost-effective approach. Studies highlight the growing relevance of this strategy in light of the high incidence and mortality of melanoma, which has increased significantly over the past decades. Final considerations: The mRNA-4157 vaccine emerges as a promising ally in melanoma treatment, offering significant advancements in efficacy and safety. However, further studies are necessary to consolidate its application in different clinical contexts, particularly in cases of metastatic melanoma. Given the increasing prevalence of the disease, the development of more effective therapies is essential to improve clinical outcomes and reduce associated mortality.
