Abstract
Objective: Analyze the epidemiology of domestic and sexual violence in Brazil to support prevention and intervention strategies. Methods: A systematic literature review of articles in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, published in the last 10 years, consulting databases such as PubMed, SciELO, and Lilacs. Inclusion criteria considered relevance, methodological quality, and the availability of the full text. Results: The results highlighted the magnitude of the problem of domestic and sexual violence against women in Brazil and the world, as well as the importance of the Maria da Penha Law in protecting women's rights. Additionally, the discussion of abortion in cases of rape and anencephaly emphasized the need for access to safe healthcare services. Bioethics played a crucial role in understanding and addressing these issues. To support the study, studies that could provide a basis for such discussion were included. Final considerations: The research emphasized the complexity of violence, its epidemiological impact, and the importance of a structured network. Attention to victims should be comprehensive, sensitive, and multidisciplinary, considering the impacts. The study highlights the ongoing need to improve prevention strategies and provide adequate assistance.
