Abstract

Objective: To retrospectively analyze the aesthetic, functional, and psychosocial satisfaction of patients undergoing abdominoplasty at the Mackenzie Evangelical University Hospital (HUEM), as well as the occurrence of complications and factors associated with the perceived outcomes. Methods: An observational, cross-sectional, and analytical study with a quantitative approach was conducted with 30 female patients operated on between March 2024 and February 2025. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and statistically analyzed using non-parametric tests. Results: The average overall satisfaction score was 71.8%, indicating a high positive perception of the results. No statistically significant differences in satisfaction were observed in relation to age group, preoperative body mass index, history of bariatric surgery, or surgical technique employed. A significant difference was observed only in the type of anesthesia, with a higher report of uncontrolled postoperative pain in the group that underwent epidural anesthesia with sedation. Conclusion: Abdominoplasty showed high levels of aesthetic, functional, and psychosocial satisfaction, proving to be a safe and effective procedure when correctly indicated.
