Abstract

Objective: The study aimed to apprehend how Education and Health professionals who work in the PSE understand ethnic-racial issues in their practice. Methods: This is an exploratory research, with a qualitative approach in the post-critical epistemological perspective. 10 professionals from the Family Health Strategy and 07 from a school institution, both located in the quilombola community, participated, using semi-structured interviews analyzed through Content Analysis with the support of the Iramuteq Software. Results: Three categories emerged that pointed out: intersectoral fragilities and training of Health and Education professionals on the development of the PSE; invisibilization of the discussion of themes related to ethnic-racial issues; and lack of knowledge and/or difficulty in complying with legislation. Conclusion: Thus, we point out that there is an understanding of the importance of ethnic-racial issues, however, they are worked in the school in an incipient way, without deepening and articulation with racist practices in the social body.
