Abstract
Objective: To analyze the profile and impact on the training of volunteers who participate in a popular course at a community university in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul. Methods: It consisted of applying an online questionnaire to volunteers, covering topics such as satisfaction with the project, available human and material resources, physical space and infrastructure, coordination and organization, results obtained and participation of volunteers. Results: Of the 63 invited volunteers, 17 completely answered the questionnaire. Profile analysis demonstrated that the majority of volunteers are single and between 20 and 30 years old. Although the majority of volunteers have less than six months of experience in the project, 09 have more than two years of volunteering. The main results indicate that the majority of volunteers feel satisfied with the project, especially with the interaction, relationships with other volunteers and the welcome at the beginning of the project. However, there are aspects to be improved in terms of available resources and materials, coordination and organization of the project. Conclusion: It is clear that the popular course is an important project for the training of students involved as volunteers, contributing to the social transformation of the community.
