Abstract

Objective: Understand the teaching of Chemistry in Youth and Adult Education considering the possible challenges and strategies in the learning process. Methods: The methodology used was based on an integrative literature review with research on studies carried out in the Scielo and Mendeley databases, using the descriptors “Education”; "Teaching"; "Chemical"; "Challenges"; “Perspectives”; "Young people"; "Adults"; “EJA”, performing combinations with the terms using the Boolean operator “AND”, covering studies published between January 2009 and January 2024. Results: The results achieved were gathered in a final sample consisting of eight publications and showed- It is clear that, at EJA, students have unique experiences compared to students in regular education, thus requiring a different methodology in teaching chemistry, for better understanding and thus integrating chemistry into their daily lives. Final considerations: In this way, it can be concluded that the teacher is a fundamental link in the construction of EJA with chemistry and for this, he must use playfulness and constant training.
