Abstract

Objective: To describe the nursing process in a patient with leiomyosarcoma in primary health care. Case details: This is a case report of care in a nursing consultation for a patient with leiomyosarcoma in primary health care. In view of the particularity of the case, it was decided to carry out this study. From the signs and symptoms evidenced in the anamnesis and physical examination, four priority nursing diagnoses were listed according to the NANDA-I taxonomy: Impaired tissue integrity; Chronic pain; Impaired ambulation; and Fear. Final considerations: The patient with leiomyosarcoma has consequences not only physical, but also emotional, which lead to changes in social, family and affective life. Thus, the primary health care nurse must be alert and able to care for these individuals, focusing on prescribing nursing care and interventions, and not on cancer diagnosis, providing differentiated and holistic care, essential to assess and manage the patient in their totality.
