Abstract
Objective: To analyze the results of scientific productions regarding the assistance of health professionals to women in situations of domestic violence. Methods: This is an integrative review of the literature carried out from April to June 2022, in the Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo) and Virtual Health Library (VHL) databases. Results: Health services play an important role in preventing and combating violence against women, with health professionals being key players. However, these professionals have difficulties in managing cases of domestic violence against women. Many factors contribute to these difficulties, such as: failure to address the issue through professional training courses, lack of protocols, lack of training and even fear of getting involved in cases. Final considerations: It is necessary to raise awareness among managers to develop service protocols and offer training to enable the team to properly manage cases.
