Abstract
Objective: To identify, in national productions, evidence about Public Policies for elderly people in Brazil. Methods: This is an integrative review, using the PICO strategy, described as follows: P: elderly person in Brazil; I: public policies; C: absence of public policies; O: scientific evidence that supports public policies. As a guiding question, the following was used: What is the scientific evidence that supports public policies aimed at the elderly population in Brazil? Results: The search for studies took place from November 2022 to April 2023 and had the following descriptors: "Elderly Person", "Aged", "Aging", "Aging", "Citizen Participation", "Community Participation", "Public Policies ", "Public Policy". The databases used were the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and SciVerse Scopus. The inclusion criteria were works related to the theme of Public Policies for elderly people in Brazil, considering in the bibliographic survey no publication time limit and articles available in full, in addition to decrees, laws, ordinances and resolutions in Portuguese. Monographs, dissertations, theses were excluded and duplicate articles were excluded. Final considerations: Scientific evidence highlights the pressing need for effective public policies that guarantee access to health, safety and promote the active participation of elderly people in society.
