Abstract
Objective: Evaluate the quality of life in patients with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Methods: The study consists of an integrative review of a descriptive and exploratory nature with a time frame covering the period from 2000 to 2023. The search for scientific literature was carried out in publicly accessible databases. The review has 30 articles from national and international scientific productions corresponding to the topic, using the terms: “OCD”, “ TOC”, “qualidade de vida” and “quality of life” to cross-reference descriptors. Results: Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) significantly impacts the lives of sufferers, compromising their interpersonal relationships, academic and professional performance and emotional well-being, in addition to reducing quality of life and increasing the risk of social isolation. Final considerations: Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a complex psychiatric condition that seriously impacts quality of life, requiring effective therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and medication. The importance of early intervention and social support is fundamental to mitigate negative effects and promote the adaptation and well-being of sufferers throughout their lives.
