Abstract
Objective: To analyze the literature on the importance of nursing care for patients with anorexia and bulimia nervosa. Methods: This study is an integrative literature review that used articles published between 2014 and 2024, in Portuguese and English with texts available in full, defining as a guiding question: What is the importance of nursing care in patients with anorexia and bulimia nervosa? The search was carried out in the databases (BVS), (LILACS), Nursing Database (BDENF), (SciELO), Acervo+ Index Base and Google Scholar, using the Descriptors in (DeCS): Nursing Care, Nursing, Eating Disorders, Anorexia, Bulimia and Importance, combined with the Boolean operator “AND”. Results: 11 articles that met the inclusion criteria showed that nursing care plays an important role in the treatment of patients with anorexia and bulimia nervosa. Final considerations: Nursing plays a crucial role in the treatment of bulimia and anorexia, requiring a detailed initial assessment and a solid therapeutic relationship. The nurse must draw up a personalized care plan with the patient and family, offering comprehensive support and an environment that favors adherence to treatment and recovery.
