Abstract

Objective: Identify the relevance of nursing care in the early detection of sepsis in patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. Methods: This is an integrative review study, in which a search was carried out in the following databases: Scientific Electronic Library (SCIELO), Virtual Health Library (BVS), Digital Library of Intellectual Production of the University of São Paulo (ReP), Portal of the Latin-American Sepsis Institute (ILAS), Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), as well as in books, monographs and up-to-date magazines. The descriptors used were selected based on their relevance to the topic and included terms such as: "Sepsis Protocol", "Systemic Lupus Erythematosus", "Nursing Care", "Emergency" and "Lethality". The criteria for including the studies were complete articles accessed online; in full; in the Portuguese language; published between 2018 and 2023. Results: 332 articles were identified, of which 214 were discarded after reading titles that were not consistent with the selected descriptors and 86 due to the abstract not addressing aspects relevant to the study. Thus, 32 articles were selected to be read in full and 17 were excluded because they did not meet the objectives, resulting in a final sample of 15 articles. Final considerations: It is considered that nursing is fundamental in sepsis care for lupus patients; however, there is a need for care protocols and training for qualified care.
