Abstract

Objective: To report an educational initiative carried out by nursing students, focusing on cervical cancer prevention (CCCP) and promoting Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination. Experience report: The activity was part of the Integrated Health Activities (IHA), based on the Problematization Methodology. After technical visits to the Primary Health Care service, women's lack of knowledge about the CCCP test was identified. A questionnaire was administered to identify frequently asked questions, such as the frequency of the test, the difference between HPV and HIV, and questions about vaccination. The topic was further explored based on scientific articles from the MEDLINE database. The intervention consisted of a discussion group, an educational banner, and a TikTok video, promoting active community participation. The initiative sought to expand access to information, strengthen the link between the university and the community, and develop students' critical thinking skills. Final considerations: The experience contributed to the development of students' communication and reflective skills, in addition to reinforcing the importance of nurses in health education. The activity also highlighted the university's role in promoting care and reducing inequalities in access to cervical cancer prevention.
