Abstract

Objective: To identify nursing team interventions in the literature for managing postpartum hemorrhage. Methods: This is an integrative literature review, where the selection of articles occurred through the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and PubMed databases. The descriptors for the PubMed search were: "Postpartum hemorrhage" and "Nursing" interconnected by the Boolean connector AND, and for the VHL search were: "Postpartum Hemorrhage" and "Nursing" interconnected by the Boolean connector AND. Results: The final sample consisted of nine articles. The main findings of this study suggest that the main nursing interventions for the management of postpartum hemorrhage are: implementation of management protocols, professionals with training in the area and team training on postpartum hemorrhage management, identification of postpartum hemorrhage (vital signs assessment, Pinard safety globe, assessment of blood volume loss), use of uterotonic medications, and non-pneumatic anti-shock clothing. Final considerations: It was evident that prevention measures and continuing education are the main interventions in the field of PPH. These measures include the implementation of a PPH protocol promoting safety, risk stratification of PPH, and the need for trained professionals.
