Abstract

Objective: To identify the challenges nursing professionals face when implementing Golden Hour. Methods: This is an integrative literature review. Data collection was performed through searches in the SCIELO, LILACS, and BVS databases. Data evaluation and analysis were performed by reading the selected articles. Results: The different cross-referencing of descriptors in the databases generated 41,017 articles; after applying the inclusion criteria, a total of 3,088 articles were obtained. In the subsequent stage, the titles and abstracts were read. At the end of this rigorous screening process, 38 articles were considered eligible, and 11 of these were included in the final sample for analysis. These articles identify the challenges nursing professionals face when implementing Golden Hour. Final considerations: It was evident that implementing Golden Hour still faces organizational, technical, clinical, and emotional barriers. The lack of protocols, cesarean deliveries, clinical complications, and maternal and professional insecurity hinder its implementation. Overcoming these obstacles requires investment in ongoing education, clear institutional protocols, adequate infrastructure, a focus on humanized care, and recognition of nurses as key players.
