Abstract
Objective: Search the scientific literature for evidence about the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in the treatment of wounds. Methods: This is an integrative literature review. The PubMed databases of the National Library of Medicine and the Virtual Health Library (BVS) were consulted by means of descriptors, the following descriptors were used: Oxygen Therapy, Hyperbaric Oxygenation, Healing, Wound, Treatment. No studies were included as primary research, which are now available in their entirety, which were published in languages up to 5 years old, in Portuguese, English and Spanish. Book chapters, dissertations, abstracts and incomplete texts were excluded. Results: At the end, 18 articles answered the guiding question and form added to the study. It showed that oxygen therapy favored the arrival of hyperplasia, the activity to stimulate the formation of vascular tissues, the fact that this collaboration with angiogenesis favored the growth of fibrogenesis and favored the wound healing process. Final considerations: The present study made it possible to identify a study in the treatment of hyperric oxygen therapy for wounds.
