Abstract
Objective: To analyze the performance of the nursing professional in relation to the patient submitted to hypodermoclysis and to provide greater scientific knowledge regarding the nursing practices performed in the care of the patient who needs subcutaneous therapy. Methods: This is an integrative literature review. The studies included in the sample were searched in the following databases: PubMed, Virtual Health Library (BVS), Lilacs, Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) and ScienceDirect and Google Scholar search engine. In the search and selection of studies, the following inclusion criteria were used: studies available in full, published in the last 10 years, in Portuguese or English. Narrative, integrative, systematic reviews, works that were not available in full were discarded. Results: The analysis of the study made it possible to find the benefits of hypodermoclysis for patients and the low adherence of the team in relation to the choice of subcutaneous therapy. A deficit in the explanation of this theme was also identified in the searched databases. Conclusion: It was possible to understand that hypodermoclysis is safer than the intravenous route, and can be used in any patient, with preference given to those with fragility in their venous network. However, little used among nursing professionals.
