Difficulties faced by nursing professionals and caregivers in assisting patients with Alzheimer's
https://acervomais.com.br/index.php/enfermagem/article/view/18527

Objective: Describe the difficulties experienced by nursing professionals and caregivers who are responsible for the care of patients with Alzheimer's Disease. Methods: This is an integrative review of the literature and for its construction a bibliographic survey was carried out in the advanced search of the Virtual Health Library, using the following Health Sciences Descriptors: “Nursing Professionals”, “Alzheimer's Disease” and “Nursing Care”. Results: The research revealed that Alzheimer's disease not only profoundly affects the quality of life of patients, but also imposes an overload on the work of caregivers, who can suffer stress, fatigue and depression. The lack of adequate support and lack of specialized knowledge about Alzheimer's Disease among nursing professionals and caregivers worsen the challenges of routine care. The results highlight the need for better training and support for caregivers and nursing professionals, suggesting that educational interventions and support groups can help improve quality of life and reduce the strain associated with caring for people with Alzheimer's. Conclusion: The lack of adequate support and the lack of knowledge about Alzheimer's Disease significantly aggravate the challenges faced by caregivers.

https://acervomais.com.br/index.php/enfermagem/article/view/19070
