The lack of adequate support and lack of specialized knowledge about Alzheimer's Disease among nursing professionals and caregivers worsen the challenges of routine care. The results highlight the need for better training and support for caregivers and nursing professionals, suggesting that educational interventions and support groups can help improve quality of life and reduce the strain associated with caring for people with Alzheimer's. Conclusion: The lack of adequate support and the lack of knowledge about Alzheimer's Disease significantly aggravate the challenges faced by caregivers.
Felipe Coutinho Costa Silva, Paulo Roberto Figueroa Junior, Mardelene Geísa Gomes, Anna Carolina Lustosa Lima, Fernanda Silva Torres ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://acervomais.com.br/index.php/enfermagem/article/view/19070 Sun, 16 Feb 2025 19:57:28 +0000 Sociodemographic and clinical profile of users treated at a psychosocial care center https://acervomais.com.br/index.php/enfermagem/article/view/19491
Objective: To analyze the sociodemographic and clinical variables of users treated at a Psychosocial Care Center. Methods: This is a documentary, descriptive study with a quantitative approach based on the analysis of the multidisciplinary medical records of users treated at a Psychosocial Care Center II, during the years 2022 to 2023. Data were collected using a structured form, with sociodemographic, clinical and care information. Subsequently, the data were subjected to descriptive analysis using absolute and relative frequencies. Results: There was a predominance of female users (54.9%), age range from 41 to 60 years (56.1%), incomplete elementary education (32.9%) and primary diagnostic hypothesis related to mood disorders (43.9%). The main referral location was the hospital (20.7%). An association was observed between female gender and complaints related to mood disorders (p<0.001) and history of suicide attempts (p<0.001). Conclusion: This study made it possible to identify the need to implement proactive strategies in order to individualize mental health care for women.
Gabrielly Sthefany Alves da Silva, Fernanda Jorge Guimarães, Mariana Boulitreau Siqueira Campos Barros, Manuel Santana e Silva, Juliana Lourenço de Araújo Veras ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://acervomais.com.br/index.php/enfermagem/article/view/19491 Sun, 16 Feb 2025 19:57:55 +0000 The application of the checklist for safe surgery and nursing perception https://acervomais.com.br/index.php/enfermagem/article/view/19824
Objective: To analyze data from the available scientific literature regarding the application of the safe surgery checklist and the perception of the nursing team. Methods: This is an integrative review with a time frame from 2018 to 2024. The guiding question was: How is the safe surgery checklist applied by the nursing team and what are the perceptions and impacts of this practice on safety of the patient? The bibliographic research was carried out in 2023 and 2024, with searches in databases such as: Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), MEDLINE (PubMed). The study followed the steps adapted from the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). Results: 30 articles were identified, of which the analysis carried out on 14 chosen articles made it possible to categorize, according to meaning cores, the themes highlighted in: “fragilities”, “perception of nursing professionals” and “impacts of implementing the checklist in improving patient safety.” Final considerations: The study highlighted the importance of the safe surgery checklist, however it was observed that there are significant weaknesses in its effective application, as well as nursing perception and the possibility of effective improvements.
Eduarda Abreu de Jesus Alves, Jessica dos Reis Gama, Kathiane Magalhães Mendes, Mirce Meire Gonçalves de Sousa Wilk ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://acervomais.com.br/index.php/enfermagem/article/view/19824 Wed, 19 Mar 2025 16:20:31 +0000 Epidemiological profile of dengue cases reported in Belém and Ananindeua, Pará, from 2021 to 2024 https://acervomais.com.br/index.php/enfermagem/article/view/20018
Objective: To analyze the epidemiological profile of dengue cases reported in the cities of Belém and Ananindeua, Pará, from 2021 to 2024. Methods: This is a descriptive epidemiological study with a quantitative approach, with data collection from the Department of Information Technology of the Unified Health System (DATASUS) between 2021 and 2024. Results: During the analyzed period, 5,513 probable cases of dengue were reported.
