Abstract

Objective: To demonstrate the case of a patient with Papular Acantholytic Dermatosis, a benign, extremely rare, skin disease. Details of the case: A 31-year-old woman seeks the dermatologist complaining of extremely pruritic lesions on the trunk and back, which worsen significantly with heat, sweating, and wearing a bra, and dry skin. On examination, she presents erythematous popular lesions and crusts distributed in the bilateral inframammary and central lumbar region, absence of malignancy and no other significant changes is other areas. The biopsy showed the presence of a focal area of orthokeratosis, hypergranulosis and acanthosis; observing a column of orthokeratosis and the presence of round bodies and grains; In the dermis, a mild superficial perivascular lymphocytic inflammatory infiltrate with some eosinophils was visualized. Final considerations: In this study, the pathology was diagnosed late, causing years of discomfort and worsening of the patient´s quality of life. Despite being a benign pathology, it is often associated with malignant disorders, making it important to track those most frequently encountered.
