Resumo

Objetivo: Revisar na literatura científica a respeito da preservação da fertilidade feminina em pacientes oncológicos, quais técnicas podem ser aplicadas para este fim, além de apresentar especificidades acerca dos cânceres ginecológicos. Revisão bibliográfica: Na oncologia, pacientes do sexo feminino submetidas à tratamento para câncer, muitas vezes experimentam a perda de sua capacidade reprodutiva e por isto são levadas a refletir acerca da possibilidade de uma maternidade futura, podendo com isso compreender as técnicas atuais disponíveis para manutenção da capacidade reprodutiva. As estratégias utilizadas incluem a criopreservação de oócitos, embriões e tecido ovariano, agonista de GnRH para proteção ovariana e cirurgias conservadoras no câncer ginecológico. O aconselhamento adequado está associado a menor arrependimento, conflito sobre suas decisões e melhor enfretamento do tratamento do câncer.  Considerações finais: A preservação da fertilidade feminina é um aspecto de grande importância na oncologia, em que grande parte das pacientes perdem sua capacidade reprodutiva como consequência de efeitos gonadotóxicos dos tratamentos. Assim, as pacientes devem ser informadas sobre os riscos de infertilidade e dos possíveis desfechos após preservação da fertilidade, a fim de garantir decisões conscientes sobre sua própria fertilidade e família.
