Clinical-epidemiological profile of Covid-19 cases diagnosed by RT-PCR in the City of Vassouras – RJ

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the clinical-epidemiological profile of cases of Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) diagnosed by Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) in the Municipality of Vassouras-RJ. Methods: Observational and cross-sectional study carried out in a public health service in the city of Vassouras-RJ. Data collection in 65 patients with a positive diagnosis for Covid-19 by RT-PCR, being evaluated the clinical and epidemiological profile through a data collection instrument of its own authorship. Data was tabulated in Microsoft Office Excel 2019. Results: Females predominated (53.85%), average age of 41 years, white (40.00%), with higher education (29.23%) and professionals from the health (41,55%). The most reported classic symptom was fever (70.77%), among the non-specific symptoms, myalgia (40.00%). Conclusion: Covid-19 in Vassouras-RJ was more prevalent in women, in the productive age group, in the most economically favored classes and with high schooling. As it is a new topic, the limitations were the low number of cases in the research and the few studies carried out with a clinical-epidemiological profile, thus requiring new scientific investigations.
