Abstract

Objective: To analyze the impact of therapeutic options on the quality of life of patients with hyperhidrosis. Methods: This is an integrative review, in which a search for previous work was carried out on the PubMed and Lilacs platforms and a total of 23 scientific articles were included after applying inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: Through the analyzed studies, it was observed that the main limitations of hyperhidrotic drugs were related to the social part and the more conservative treatments showed better outcomes in mild or moderate cases, while more invasive approaches were better indicated in severe cases. The social scope was greatly affected by the condition, the patients had difficulties in being in environments with interaction, touching other people, dealing with body odor and handling objects. Finally, the therapeutic options played a great role in controlling sweating, thus demonstrating a favorable outcome in terms of improved quality of life. Final considerations: It is important that there is greater dissemination of information in our society about the disease and available treatments, as well as better screening of the condition so that individuals can be diagnosed early.
