O efeito da prática regular de atividade física na redução da depressão pós-parto

Resumo

Objetivo: Analisar o efeito da prática de atividade física regular na redução da depressão pós-parto (DPP). Métodos: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa realizada nas bases de dados Portal Regional da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS) e National Library of Medicine (PubMed). Foram utilizados os descritores “Depression, Postpartum” e “exercise”, utilizando o operador booleano “AND”. Foram incluídos artigos cujos estudos eram do tipo ensaio clínico, ensaio clínico controlado ou estudo observacional, em inglês, com texto completo e publicados nos últimos 5 anos (2018-2023). Resultados: Dos 19 artigos selecionados, doze constataram uma relação inversa entre prática regular de atividade física e DPP. Foi demonstrado que a prática de exercícios regularmente ao longo da gravidez e após o parto por gestantes e puérperas diminuiu a incidência da DPP e reduziu sua sintomatologia. sete estudos selecionados não observaram essa relação, no entanto houve limitações como a diminuição da adesão às intervenções propostas e a possibilidade das gestantes consideradas ativas não serem suficientemente ativas nos estudos observacionais. Considerações finais: Considera-se que a prática de atividade física regular possui efeito preventivo e terapêutico eficaz na redução da DPP, constituindo uma intervenção efetiva e segura em seu manejo.
