Como o confinamento domiciliar impactou pessoas com TEA e seus familiares durante a pandemia da COVID-19

Resumo

Objetivo: Avaliar a resposta dos portadores do Transtorno do Espectro do Autismo (TEA) e seus familiares ao isolamento social durante a pandemia. Métodos: Este estudo empreendeu uma abordagem de revisão integrativa de literatura, examinando detalhadamente artigos científicos veiculados no período de 2020 a 2022. Após uma criteriosa seleção, baseada em critérios rigorosos de inclusão e exclusão, culminando em um processo analítico, identificaram-se e preservaram-se 20 artigos dentre os 244 inicialmente considerados. Resultados: Após uma minuciosa análise do corpus selecionado, chegou-se à conclusão de que o período de confinamento domiciliar, decorrente da pandemia da COVID-19, gerou um impacto desgastante para a totalidade dos indivíduos avaliados, ressaltando-se, contudo, uma incidência mais acentuada desse desgaste entre aqueles que são portadores do Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) e seus respetivos familiares e cuidadores. Considerações finais: A avaliação evidenciou que o isolamento em casa durante a pandemia de COVID-19 teve um impacto desafiador para aqueles que têm Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) e suas famílias.
