Abstract

Objective: To review through the scientific literature on the clinical patterns associated with the development of skin lesions in pediatric patients after SARS-CoV-2 infection. Methods: Between August and December 2021, articles from the PUBMED, LILACS and SciELO databases were evaluated, following the recommendations of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) selection method, using the descriptors "pediatrics”, “dermatology”, “SARS-CoV-2” and “COVID-19”. Results: After comparing 49 selected abstracts between the bases, 12 duplicates were found and excluded before the complete reading was performed. After removing repetitions, 37 articles were read in full and 18 of these were included in the present review. Final considerations: As it is a prevalent disease and whose pathophysiological mechanisms, clinical signs and symptoms are not fully elucidated, the information collected in this research is of paramount relevance, given that the knowledge about skin lesions due to Covid-19, in some cases, it may be the basis for the diagnosis and management of suspected infected patients.
