Abstract
Objective: To discuss the techniques used in conventional treatments for hemorrhoidal disease (HD), correlating the existing strategies between the techniques in order to qualify the best studies regarding the postoperative period and the better quality of life of the patient after surgery. Methods: An integrative review of articles was performed, with a search using the PubMed virtual database. The study included articles comparing HD surgical methods and techniques and articles that exposed a technique, which addressed surgical prognosis associated with the patient's signs and symptoms when performing these. Results: Eleven studies were retrieved that had a multimodal comparison of techniques. The total number of people surveyed in the works was 2071 people, 819 women and 1046 men. The age variant of the study was 18 years to 59 years, with a mean age of 38 years. The number of people who underwent PPH was 612 people, Final considerations: Conventional surgery techniques have better long-term results. Despite good results in the immediate postoperative period, Mechanical Circular Hemorrhoidopexy (PPH) and Transanal hemorrhoidal deterialization (THD) do not present safe long-term results.
