Abstract
Objective: To analyze the approach and management of chronic pain in primary care, considering diagnostic methods, treatment and the effectiveness of interventions. Literature review: The results highlight the complexity of chronic pain management in primary care, emphasizing the need for multidisciplinary approaches. A variety of therapeutic strategies were identified, including pharmacological interventions, non-pharmacological therapies, psychosocial approaches, and patient education. Furthermore, the importance of communication between healthcare professionals and patients to optimize treatment was noted. Final considerations: Chronic pain in primary care represents a significant public health challenge, requiring a holistic and integrated approach. The inclusion of complementary approaches, such as physiotherapy, acupuncture and relaxation techniques, can expand the therapeutic options available to these patients. Furthermore, the introduction of personalized treatment protocols, which consider not only physical pain, but also psychological and social aspects, is essential to improve the quality of life of patients with chronic pain.
