Abstract

Objective: To report the case of a patient submitted to the use of manual intrauterine aspiration (MVA) in an ectopic pregnancy with a cesarean section scar as an alternative conservative treatment. Case details:  Female patient, 31 years old, pregnant, G5P3A1C1, presented with an ectopic pregnancy implanted in a cesarean section scar, without criteria that would allow the use of methotrexate. To avoid hysterectomy for a patient who still wanted to preserve fertility, conservative treatment was chosen, with the use of MVA guided by transvaginal and pelvic ultrasound, with in hysterectomy, which compromises the reproductive desire of many  patients of fertile age, in addition to causing complications inherent to the surgical procedure. Treatment involving the use of resolution of the condition. Final considerations: Ectopic pregnancy in a cesarean section is a serious diagnosis, which can lead to uterine rupture and hemorrhages and, therefore, often results a less invasive procedure, such as intrauterine manual aspiration, allowed the preservation of  reproductive desire, faster and better recovery for the patient, and may prove to be an interesting alternative for such cases.
