Abstract
Objective: To globally evaluate the aspects inherent to the patient with major burns, as well as the main misconceptions of emergency management of the treatment of these patients. Bibliographic Review: Throughout this article, it was found that in order to have an effective treatment, some factors must be individualized, such as early diagnosis characterized by the identification of the etiology, extent, severity and depth of injuries caused by burns. Based on these aspects, it is essential to disseminate information regarding the treatment of the multidisciplinary team in order to restore the quality of life of patients affected by this clinical condition. Final considerations: In view of the above, in order to increase the contribution to the medical community, this literature review is summarized in the elucidation of the main errors facing the burned patient. In an epidemiological analysis of the cases, it is inferred that only multi-directed treatment is able to provide the resolution of the condition, an aspect that is not seen in large emergency centers in the care of trauma patients.
