Abstract
Objective: To analyze the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on childhood obesity, relating it to age and gender. Characterizing better which they are in an attempt to achieve a better intervention. Methods: The methodological approach of this work proposes a compilation of bibliographic research with a qualitative approach and descriptive character through an integrative literature review in the National Library of Medicine, Virtual Health Library and Directory of Open AccessJournals databases. The descriptors used were “OBESITY”, “CHILD” and “COVID 19”. Inclusion criteria were journal articles, clinical trials, clinical trials, randomized or non-randomized, case-control studies, cohort study, free access, published in English, Portuguese, Spanish, between 2020 and 2022. Results: The results of the selected works were evaluated and a comparative table was constructed, which is composed of the number of individuals approached in the studies, year of publication, time spent in sports activities, screen time, diet, sex more susceptible to obesity and age group. Final considerations: In this way, the Covid-19 pandemic reinforced the obesogenic environment in which children were most affected, generating catastrophic consequences in adult life, increasing their morbidity and still generating high health costs.
