Abstract
Objective: To analyze the individualities and characteristics that involve basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas. Bibliographic Review: Basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas have peculiarities in relation to their incidence, being considerably prevalent in Brazil, as well as their risk factors, which end up attacking older people, presenting differences between them, an aspect that is directly related to the diagnosis and subsequent prognosis of the patient. This article will also analyze the histological subtypes of each carcinoma, in addition to their respective staging forms. Prevention ends up being the focus in the fight against these carcinomas, since it reduces possible recurrences, and helps in the choice of treatment and staging of the carcinoma, which will still be contemplated and analyzed in this literature review. Final considerations: The study of both basal and squamous cell carcinomas is extremely relevant, because their risk factors are preventable. It is important to highlight that the education of behavioral change therapies by health services is crucial in the management of these patients, as well as an adequate early diagnosis in order to reduce as much as possible debilitating conditions for the patient.
