Abstract

Objective: Analyze and correlate the cardiovascular impact of COVID-19 in pacients with comorbities and risk factor associated with the damage caused by the infection, as well as prognosis and the relation with mortality. Methods: This is an integrative review of the literature, with articles published between 2020 and 2023, including observational studies and clinical trials with full text available. The search was carried out in the following databases: National Libery of Medicine (Pubmed) and VHL Regional Portal. As descriptors in the search for articles, the following were used: ´´Covid-19´´, impact ´´, ´´cardiovascular system´´, associated with the Boolerian operator ´´AND´´.  Results: 11 articles were selected from the Pubmed database and 8 articles from the VHL regional portal, with 6 articles being removed from this study due to being duplicated between platforms, resulting in 19 articles. Final considerations: In conclusion, It is important that healthcare professionals know how to identify and manage cardiac changes during the course of COVID-19, due to their impact on the cardiovascular system and mortality. Therefore, It is important that healthcare professionals know how to identify and manage cardiac changes during the course of COVID-19, due to their impact on the cardiovascular system and mortality.
