Abstract

Objective: Expand knowledge about anatomy in dentistry, focusing on accidents and complications present in minor oral surgery. Bibliographic review: The dental surgeon must have a broad knowledge of the entire facial anatomy, as this area presents many minutiae, therefore continuing education in all areas of health and constant training is necessary so that accidents and complications can be avoided. In minor oral surgery. The literature presents the maxillary sinus, greater palatine artery, nasopalatine artery, inferior alveolar nerve, buccal nerve and mental nerve as the main structures affected. Final considerations: As prevention, correct planning stands out as an excellent weapon for such accidents and complications, in addition to adequate knowledge of all anatomical structures, imaging tests such as panoramic radiographs and computed tomography, when requested correctly, are indispensable in planning surgical.
