Abstract

Objective: To identify the techniques and materials used in the treatment of orbital floor fractures. Methods: This is an integrative review, with articles published between 2012 and 2024, without language restrictions and with full text available. The guiding question based on the PICOS strategy was: what are the advances in access and implants for orbital floor fractures? Data collection concluded in May 2024, whose database was PubMed/MedLine using MeSH descriptors and their synonyms: “Orbital Floor Fractures” and “Therapeutics”, related to orbital floor fractures and their treatments, with the Boolean operator AND. Results: Of the 39 eligible articles, they demonstrated that the transconjunctival access was the most used for reconstruction of fractures and among the materials, autogenous grafts predominated, with emphasis on the iliac crest bone graft. Final considerations: Transconjunctival access and autogenous grafts, mainly from the iliac crest, are the techniques and materials most used in the treatment of orbital floor fractures. Supportive equipment, such as endoscopes and guided navigation, demonstrate increasing potential in the treatment of this type of facial fractures.
